For the first-time in several years, the Kentucky Derby doesn’t always have a horse as a consensus pick. Many experts believe a few entrants could win the first leg associated with the Triple Crown, Saturday.
Though Classic Empire is the favorite at 4-1, experts genuinely believe that a few other horses could capture Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.
Classic Empire has the lowest odds at 4-1, but two other horses, Always Dreaming and McCraken are in 5-1 and it couldn’t surprise many if just one was victorious. Irish War Cry is right behind them at 6-1.
‘It’s as wide open as we’ve seen in a time that is long’ Trainer Dale Romans told the vegas Sun. ‘You’re going to involve some odds that are big whoever the favorite is. It could be any horse this race. We don’t think this actually means it is a bad group of horses, I believe it’s an even number of horses.’
Favorite for the Reason
With precipitation in the forecast, Classic Empire has an advantage according to odds makers as the horse won his maiden race for a track that is sloppy. There wasn’t said to be a complete large amount of rain, but sufficient to make the track heavy and keep the pace slow.
The 3-year-old also has an impressive previous performance that made him the pick that is top. He won the Arkansas Derby in April and took two Breeders Cup competitions in October and November.
